Captain Eric Blackburn

Eric and Family - San Juan del Sur - July 2003

 Who is Captain Eric?

Eric Blackburn is an energetic, hard working, determined, optimistic man. His focus may have altered course over the past years, but in Nicaragua where he now lives with his family, his vision to help impoverished children and families has remained strong. You can read about Captain Eric, his boat the Chickadee, and the courageous voyage that started it all, in an article right here: How it all started?.

You can find out more about the work Eric has accomplished in past years by visiting The Archives. Here you can read through the logs of his journey or learn about the many projects already completed in Nicaragua. New projects will be posted here on this site along with regular reports to keep you up-to-date.

A one hour Documentary...Chickadee: Spirit of the Kootenays tells the story of the World Kids Voyage and some of Eric's work in Nicaragua. This Coming Home Films production may be purchased by contacting producer and director, Beverly Reid. Or visit the FilmWest Associates website to order your copy.

Many individuals and organizations have joined in support of Captain Eric's first journey and his continuing work through World Kids Foundation in Nicaragua.

Your support, in whatever way you are able, will always be appreciated.
