There are good ships, and there are wood ships, the ships that
sail the sea. But the best ships, are friendships, and may they
always be.

Initially, I planned to spend only 2 days at Marina Puesta Del Sol. Two
days stretched into 6 days.
Marina
Puesta Del Sol is situated in a beautiful sheltered tropical lagoon surrounded
by palm trees and looming volcanoes. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming
and friendly.
No expense has been spared; the marina has all the amenities cruisers
could ever wish for, including 45 first class slips with 110v/30 amp and
220v/50 amps of power. The each slip also has pure drinking water, wifi
wireless internet, cable TV, dock box stowage. The wifi internet is glorious!
One can sit in the peace and tranquility of their boat (floating office)
and constructively get a lot of work done.
The
clubhouse has hot water showers, laundry machines, internet / fax and
full service bar and restaurant. The estuary of Aserradores is a pristine
natural harbor with white sandy beaches, palm trees and volcanoes hovering
in the distance. Winds are predominantly out of the east and northeast.
Marina Puesta Del Sol is an ideal place to leave your boat for an extended
period of time while visiting the many spectacular sights of Nicaragua.
Puesta
Del Sol is a diamond in the rough. Word is traveling fast, there really
is such a thing as paradise. Four new arrivals sailed in yesterday from
points north; SV Ocean Lady, SV Sarana, SV Batwing, SV Seaquestor. For
a full detailed report on Nicaragua’s Marina Puesta Del Sol, visit

Friends Jan and Dwight on SV Mira departed Puesta Del Sol this morning
for Mexico. Jeff and Stephanie are leaving their lovely SV Musetta for
a few months and flying home to the states for the summer.
I untie SV Vesper in about two hours and will make a bee
line for San Juan Del Sur 130 miles south. The general plan will be to
coastal pilot down the coast, weather permitting, with one or two rest
stops along the way.

I’ll have a full report upon arrival in Bahia San Juan.
