Eric tested his craft by circumnavigating Vancouver Island. In order to continue
funding this project, Eric worked in various jobs such as the coal mines, as
a deckhand on a fishing boat and roughnecking on oil rigs. All this effort was
in order to properly equip the vessel and give him enough money to get
started.
